Represent Independent Age at community events, distributing information and signposting older people to free advice and support services. This flexible role suits people who enjoy talking to others and attending local events.
Information & Advice Volunteer
Help older people, their families and carers navigate complex systems such as social care, benefits and housing by answering queries on the Independent Age helpline. Full training is provided, and you can volunteer from home.
Telephone Befriender
Make regular warm telephone calls to an older person who is experiencing loneliness, providing a reliable listening ear and genuine friendship. Volunteers are fully trained and matched carefully with an older person who shares similar interests.
